Join Shelter Medicine Club (SMC) and the International Veterinary Organization (IVO) to learn about the vital role of veterinarians in animal shelters! Shelter Medicine Club provides veterinary students with opportunities to learn about supporting local shelters, promoting equity within veterinary medicine by supporting Access to Care programs, and becoming a shelter veterinarian. IVO provides monthly volunteering opportunities at the East Bay Spay/Neuter Clinic, which provides free sterilization surgeries for underserved pet owners in Martinez and teaches students how to place IVCs, intubate, and monitor anesthesia/recovery under the direct supervision of experienced RVTs, VAs, and DVMs.

All students can attend this lunch talk and students who RSVP can receive food!
