UC Davis Veterinary Hospital Recognizes Staff with Annual Awards

The UC Davis William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) recently acknowledged the dedication and hard work of its staff members with the annual VMTH Staff Excellence Awards.

Leadership/Staff Excellence Award Winner: Caroline Yearian
Caroline is an example of a team member that truly makes this hospital better. She cares for the patients like they are her own pets and is always advocating for them. Caroline will go above and beyond for patients and owners to make sure they are happy and comfortable. She is always dependable and willing to help her coworkers whenever and however she can. Caroline is a leader in the hospital and shines everyday as an example to her co-workers.

Brandie is an exceptional technician whose dedication, work ethic, and compassion make her an invaluable part of the team. She manages a high caseload with efficiency and precision, seamlessly transitioning from one critical task to the next without ever missing a beat. What truly sets Brandie apart is her deep compassion for both patients and people. She is kind, approachable, and supportive with students – always willing to teach, explain, and encourage. Her positive attitude and personality make her a joy to work with.

Large Animal Hospital Award Winner: Chelsea Gaultney
Chelsea brings a rare combination of outstanding technical skills, deep clinical knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care, teamwork, and student education. She is a key contributor to our educational mission – frequently asking insightful questions that challenge and engage both students and residents. Her calm, respectful communication style sets a strong example, even in high-pressure situations. Chelsea actively supports a positive work environment through her teamwork, initiative, and constant effort to improve the workspace. Her daily impact on our team and our patients is deeply appreciated.

Laboratory/Pathology/Pharmacy/Central Services/Diagnostic Imaging Award Winner: Sandra Morgan 
Sandy has consistently gone above and beyond her role, always willing to help others, even when it falls outside her official responsibilities. From managing the Omnicell to handling everyday stocking, countless staff members rely on her dedication, efficiency, and kindness. We are continually grateful for all that Sandy has done. It is a great pleasure to work with her.

Supervisor Award Winner: Soli Redfield 
Soli is such a positive and wonderful force in the hospital. She is never afraid to step up, pick up any slack, get her hands dirty – anything to help us. She has an amazing work ethic and truly inspires everyone. She is always supportive and the techs can always count on her for guidance. Soli strives to be a powerful mentor and is continually working to improve her skills as a leader. She makes every effort to create a safe and supportive work environment even through the toughest of battles and her busy schedule. She is solidly committed to fostering a culture of teamwork that makes us thrive more and more each day. We admire her constant dedication to her staff, the students, and to the patients. We are truly so lucky and grateful to have Soli.

Administrative/Client Services Award Winner: Tiffany Malik 
Tiffany’s attention to detail ensures patient examination, procedures, diagnostics, and hospitalization are all accurate. Her expertise in hospital policy and procedures has been invaluable in helping other team members understand the complexities of the hospital’s daily operations. Tiffany consistently demonstrates a high level of customer service and troubleshooting skills, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and effectively. Tiffany is relied on heavily for guidance when issues arise, and we are fortunate to have her on our financial team.
