The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine welcomed 54 new house officers (fellows, interns, residents) into its advanced training programs this year. The School’s House Officer Program is the largest of its kind in the United States with 140 total house officers training in 47 specialty disciplines.

Fourth-year DVM student Kassidy Shelly is one of four recipients of the 2021 Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarships given to aspiring horse doctors. Thirteen DVM students from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine have been selected as recipients of the 2021 Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholars Award. Applications were submitted by more than 1,200 second- and third-year veterinary students from veterinary schools in the United States and the Caribbean. The 13 UC Davis winners are part of 315 total recipients. Each will receive a scholarship of $2,000.
The school celebrated its annual Evening of Gratitude virtually on October 8 — honoring our generous donors and exceptional students, together advancing veterinary medicine into the future. Students received $6.5 million in total support this year through more than 450 awards, thanks to the generosity of individual, association and corporate donors who make new and continuing awards possible. This is another outstanding year for the school’s scholarship and fellowship program.
