Support for promising veterinarians in training has never been more important than today. The Westie Foundation of America, Inc. (WFA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the West Highland White Terrier breed announced today the first scholarship award of The Westie Foundation of America/Thomas and Roxanne Austin Veterinary Scholarship program.
To ensure that graduates can follow their career dreams while also helping to address the growing veterinary health disparities, we are minimizing their financial burden upon graduation.
The Michael A. Maynard, DVM ’17 Memorial Scholarship was created by the Class of 2017 to honor a classmate and assist others through the challenges of the profession.
Fourth-year DVM student Kassidy Shelly is one of four recipients of the 2021 Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarships given to aspiring horse doctors. The scholarship was presented by the Foundation for the Horse at the American Association of Equine Practitioners 67th Annual Convention, held recently in Nashville, Tennessee.
Thirteen DVM students from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine have been selected as recipients of the 2021 Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholars Award. Applications were submitted by more than 1,200 second- and third-year veterinary students from veterinary schools in the United States and the Caribbean. The 13 UC Davis winners are part of 315 total recipients. Each will receive a scholarship of $2,000.
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) recently released the 2019 Economic State of the Veterinary Profession and the data shows UC Davis to be the best value in veterinary education.
