When Sandy and Joan Weill committed $120 million to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, they made a powerful investment in the future of medicine. Of that gift, $40 million support pioneering research that benefits animals and holds profound promise for people.
Many breakthroughs begin at our Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials, where beloved pets participate in studies focused on naturally occurring diseases such as cancer, heart disease and epilepsy; the very conditions that touch millions of families. Because pets share our homes and environments, they often face the same illnesses we do. The insights gained from treating our beloved animals can help speed advances in human medicine, just as human discoveries inform their care.
