The American Veterinary Medical Association’s American Board of Veterinary Specialties has provisionally recognized the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology as veterinary medicine’s newest specialty discipline.

Fourth-year DVM student Kassidy Shelly is one of four recipients of the 2021 Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarships given to aspiring horse doctors. The scholarship was presented by the Foundation for the Horse at the American Association of Equine Practitioners 67th Annual Convention, held recently in Nashville, Tennessee.
UC Davis recently wrapped up its National Veterinary Entrepreneurship Academy, which joined faculty, graduate students and researchers from veterinary schools across the world with leaders from academia and the corporate world who have experience taking innovations to market.
Thirteen DVM students from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine have been selected as recipients of the 2021 Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholars Award. Applications were submitted by more than 1,200 second- and third-year veterinary students from veterinary schools in the United States and the Caribbean. The 13 UC Davis winners are part of 315 total recipients. Each will receive a scholarship of $2,000.
