The school celebrated its annual Evening of Gratitude virtually on October 8 — honoring our generous donors and exceptional students, together advancing veterinary medicine into the future. Students received $6.5 million in total support this year through more than 450 awards, thanks to the generosity of individual, association and corporate donors who make new and continuing awards possible. This is another outstanding year for the school’s scholarship and fellowship program.

Design faculty in the College of Engineering (COE) are soliciting project ideas that originate in an unmet need within the field of veterinary medicine. Proposals can be related to solving a clinical problem, improving patient care, or to support a clinical research program, through the development of technology, a device or system process. Since 2005, undergraduate COE students have been collaborating with clinicians and researchers in the School of Veterinary Medicine to complete their Capstone Senior Design projects.

Evaluation of health security systems in the United States in 2016 revealed a prevalent issue: inconsistent coordination across federal, state, and local health sectors. To address this concern, the World Health Organization has encouraged the United States to build a more formal One Health strategy that enables coordination among all stakeholders in human, animal, and environmental health.
