Thanks to Donors, a New Fundraising Record
The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine announced that it had raised $118 million in the fiscal year 2024-25, a new record for the school. A total of 5,380 individuals, corporations, and foundations made 8,632 philanthropic contributions.
Donors to the school in the past fiscal year provided critical funding that will advance the school’s efforts in addressing issues affecting veterinary health in California and worldwide, including support for scholarships, public service and funds for innovative research and treatments, including those that have the potential to translate to human health, such as cancer.
Philanthropic partners provided momentum to the school’s efforts to expand its facilities, including a new Veterinary Medical Complex and the expansion of the school’s veterinary care in Southern California with the new Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center, Southern California, set to open next year.
“Philanthropy is the fuel that allows our school to dream big and have huge positive impacts on our world," said Mark Stetter, DVM, Dipl ACZM, dean and professor of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, expressing his gratitude. "Our wonderful donors are also our partners. Together we are creating a healthier community for animals, people, and the planet.”
